This historic establishment echoes the hospitality of its first owner, Thomas Duthie, who lived here 150 years ago.Situated in the garden suburb of Belvidere, the hotel enjoys magnificent views of Knysna’s lagoon. Guests are accommodated in 28 private cottages, with lagoon orgarden views. Each single or double storey cottage consists of a wide verandah, comfortable lounge with fireplace, a fully fitted kitchen, and 1, 2 or 3 double en-suite bedrooms. Amenities include satellite television with 18 channels, DVD player,direct dial telephone, fireplace, overhead fans, room safe, gowns and toiletries.

Caroline’s bistro opens daily for dinner in Belvidere House and serves an a la carte menu featuring fresh local produce. The Bell Tavern, voted the Garden Route’s best pub restaurant in 2009 and 2010 is a favourite with guests and locals alike, and serves a wide range of hearty meals such as pot pies, fish and chips and burgers.

Belvidere Manor is a beautiful garden wedding venue and caters for up to 60 guests, and also has an executive conference centre for meetings, product launches and other functions.
