Situated on the shores of Swartvlei Lake, in the "lake district" of the garden route, near the quaint village of Sedgefield. This family-oriented resort offers varied sizes and designs of self catering accommodation from modern cabanas on the waterfront to rustic log cabins set back on the resort gardens. Cottages These standard units are single storey brick and mortar units, mostly not stand alone (i.e they are joined to other units) which are situated back on the resort in a tranquil garden setting (no lake view from the units). The units vary in size from studio two sleepers with kitchenette and compact shower room, through one, two and three bedroom units of various configurations, some having sleeper couches in the lounge. All 1 bedroom units have a double bed in the bedroom, and separate bathrooms whereas all the 2 bedroom units have en-suite shower rooms in the main bedroom with a double bed, and a separate bathroom. Where applicable, the 2nd bedrooms have two single beds, and the third bedrooms have either 2 single beds or a bunk bed. The open patios lead to a braai area. Wooden Cabins These rustic standard units are all free standing and are of various unique designs, situated back on the resort in a tranquil garden setting (no lake view from the units). The units vary in size from one bedroom 4 sleeper, through two & three bedroom, and the largest is a three bedroom with separate flatlet. All main bedrooms have a double bed with all other bedrooms having twin single beds (bunks in some of the 3rd bedrooms). All units have open plan kitchens, most with gas stoves, some with electric stoves and all have microwaves, opening onto a lounge area with TV, and most have wood fireplaces. All have patios with braai areas. Giraffes The Giraffes are our standard units, and are compact duplexes, which are situated back on the resort in a tranquil garden setting (no lake view from the units). The Giraffes come in three different sizes: 2 bedroom 6 sleeper, 1 bedroom 4 sleeper large and 1 bedroom 4 sleeper small, all with sleeper couches in the lounge. The main bedroom with a double bed is situated upstairs above the lounge and the two bedroom and one bedroom large units have an en-suite shower room with toilet. Downstairs is the open plan kitchen with modern stove/oven and microwave as well as a lounge with TV and ceiling fan and the main bathroom/toilet. Also downstairs where applicable is the 2nd bedroom and this has two single beds. An open patio with braai area leads into the garden from the lounge. Waterfront Cabanas The cabanas our premier chalets and are double storey apartment style, facebrick simplex units along the waterfront with views over the breathtakingly beautiful Swartvlei lagoon. The Cabanas come in 4 different configurations from 3 bedroom 8 sleepers and 2 bedroom 6 sleepers (sleeper couch in the lounges) to 3 bedroom 6 sleepers and 2 bedroom 4 sleepers (no sleeper couch). Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, with an open plan dining and lounge area with a television. Upstairs units have a small open balcony with braai whereas the downstairs units have covered patios with a braai area opening onto the garden. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and en-suite shower/basin/toilet. Other bedrooms have twin single beds and the main bathroom has bath/basin/toilet. A generous selection of facilities is available on site: games room with pool tables/coin op/video machines; TV; kiddies board games; small library; playstation; squash court; 3 tennis courts; mini golf; bicycle hire (extra cost); trampolines; kids alligator activity course; beach volleyball Adult clubhouse facilities (Complimentary for over 18's only) Jacuzzis x2; gym; saunas x2; pool tables + darts; small library; lounge with TV/DSTV-limited; outside boma area; swimming pool A fantastic range of water sports are available, centred around our fully equipped boathouse incl: windsurfing; hobie cat 14 & 16; rowing boat; pedallos, canoes, boat launch facilities.
